Birthday Party FAQ’s


We can come to your house or to a local park or hall.
However if you have chosen a location that is large in size please ensure that you provide specific instructions for us, so that we can meet you in the right location. Landmarks such as near the netball courts or near the playground are great in helping our staff find you!

We are based in Sherwood but are happy to drive to locations such as Ipswich, Logan and of course Brisbane. If your party is located more than 20km from Sherwood, there is an additional $35 charge and an additional $15 per 10kms after that.


We take 50% deposit on booking and the remaining balance is due 48 hours before the party. Book your ABK party here.


  • Cancel more then a week in advance and receive a full refund.
  • Cancel less than 7 days out but more than 48 hours out and receive a full credit to reuse at another time or 80% refund.
  • Cancel with less than 48 hours and receive a full credit to use within the next three weeks of the original date of your party.
  • What happens if it rains?

    Please note if it rains on the day of your party and you are able to find an undercover option we are more then happy to accommodate you by travelling to a different location and also by changing our games if required to fit a smaller space. We always have amazing rainy-day games up our sleeves for when the weather is not the best and will work with you to ensure the party can still go ahead with all the fun you would expect from an Actively Balanced Kids Party. If you cannot find an undercover option we are happy to postpone your party and give you full credit to use again within the next three weeks so that your party can still go ahead.

  • Are you fully insured?

    Yes Actively Balanced Kids is a fully insured business.

  • What happens if I want additional kids to come along last minute?

    We will always carry additional craft and bags on the day in case you need or want to add, additional children. Please note however these are limited and if you do know in advance we can ensure we have the additional activities available. You will be invoiced after the event for any additional children that come along.

  • Do your staff have Blue Cards?

    All of our staff at Actively Balanced Kids have Blue Cards.

  • Do you have to book a specific time slot?

    No we will work with you and are flexible on booking times. However once booked we may not be able to change the time of your booking, but please email us to ask if you do require a change of time.

  • Do you cater?


  • What age are your parties for?

    We can customize parties for as children as young as 3 all they way through to 11 years of age. We have a wide range of games and athletics as well as yoga and craft that can be changed to suit the age of the group.

  • What time should you come to my party?

    Most children’s parties run for around 2 hours we recommend that we come around 30 minutes into your party so that your guests all have time to arrive and mingle and you have time for food and cake after we have finished.

    However saying this we are happy to come at anytime within your party time!

  • Do I need to do anything special to have my party in a park?

    Some council parks may require permits, especially if you would like a designated space for your party. It is up to you to check with your local council and ensure that any permits that are needed are organised for your party. We do not organise permits on your behalf.

  • Where should I hold my party?

    There are many great places to hold a party. For peace of mind a local hall is a great option. Other places to consider is your own home for convenience or of course your local park.

  • What is included in the party bags?

    Our party bags are made to ensure every child can take the magic of ABK home.

    Each child will receive in their bag

    • Bubbles
    • Stickers
    • Spin top or similar item
    • Lollies* – Gluten Free, Nut Free and Vegan
    • Balloon
    • Any craft they have made on the day
    • Additional items like colour in pens and colour ins.

    Please note while we do everything we can to ensure our lollies meet all children’s needs. It is up to the parents of children with severe allergies to decide on whether to consume the lollies. However we are more then happy to send you an ingredients list on request as well to help keep parents informed.
